So I'm sat at home preparing for a Christmas on my own, and it's only just hit me quite how depressing it is. πŸ˜• :'(

Not sure if I get it.

What's wrong with Christmas alone?

It's a dirty little secret that for most people it is tough. It is hard to meet the all the expectations we have of it. Just remember, Jesus was born in a stable.

The celebration of Christmas is Hope. We eagerly await the arrival of the Christ child, the promised Messiah, or Hope in ages to come. Christ came to us, so that God can become more accesable to us. You are never alone when you walk with God.

I know, I know...take it to spirituality SpankyπŸ˜›

Merry Christmas anyway!

yeah, but he had kings bringing him expensive gifts. i wouldn't mind spending xmas night in a stable if i get gold frankincense and myhrr out of it.

EDIT: you never hear about what happened to those gifts either.

They probably used them to finance the Egyptian exile.

Yep -- diapers, a nice casserole, baby wipes, receiving blankets -- I think that was the last time men were allowed to shop for baby gifts.

That reminds me of this: http://www.thecryptmag.com/Online/43/ThreeWiseWomen.html

As for spending Christmas alone, I did that during my first year in Norway, and I didn't find it depressing at all. I just did away with all "Christmas expectations". I had very little Christmas decorations, and I didn't really celebrate Christmas at all, other than opening the presents (oh, and my neighbours invited me for their Christmas lunch on Christmas Eve). It would probably have been depressing if I had tried to make it similar to the Christmas celebrations with my family.

Anyway, I hope Freddie's Christmas wasn't as depressing as he expected!
