Chess and Darts

General

A cartoon of a chess match.

Three puzzles. This is one of them. White to play and win....be careful.

Then onto a couple of RHP games using the last puzzle as a theme.

OOPS!

I was here reading the jokes and landed and posted here by mistake.

Edit. Now linking from here and the chess forum to the blog,
they both work but I've probably broken something along the way.

Also been a while since I posted in this forum...Hello Everyone.

i was intrigued by the puzzle but i could not get the pieces to move and that frustrated me so i got my darts out and now i gotta go buy a new desktop monitor

thank you!

You fell the hidden trap that has tripped up quite a few solvers.

The clue to spot is the position of the Kings.

1. Rxh3 Rxh3
2. f8=Q Re3+

Followed by 3....Rf3+ and 4....Rxf8 easily winning the ending.

@greenpawn34

1. Rf5... there follows two main branches:
...Rxf5
2. Kxf5 h2
3. f8=Q h1=Q
4. Qa8+ wins

or

1. Rf5 h2
2. f8=Q h1=Q
3. Qc8 ++

@Earl-of-Trumps

That is it. Maybe I should post a blog link in every thread, that way I get to
chat to more people.

Just as en experiment to see if the site can handle I'll post a a blog link
in every forum (need a technical term for a blog link. how about 'a blinker' )

Maybe not every forum.
The Spirituality Forum get quite rabid so I'll shy away from there.
The Science Forum will say I am contributing to global warming.
Posers and Puzzles will say the puzzles I offer are too easy.
Site Ideas will say this is a bad idea.
and the Debates Forum will start questioning my sanity.
