@ghost-of-a-duke saidAh … your wife paints! Lovely 🙂
One of my wife's paintings.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidShe has some talent, and Snowy sounds much better in my humble opinion.

@ponderable saidWhen do you guys count the end of Christmas time?
Done
6th of January (as is customary in modern Germany)
2nd of February (40 days with the relevant rites in Judaism)
Any other? (Then we change back our avatras I presume)
@ponderable saidTo me Christmas is generally over on Boxing day, no later than New Year. So my avatar has been changed back to normal.

@torunn saidWhen I was young, Christmas was delineated by the bumper 2-week issues of the Radio Times and the TV Times.
I have no Christmas tree, no decorations. What I have is two 'electric Advent candlesticks', hyacinths, 'mini-bulb strand'(?) and some decorations and ivy on the balcony. The Christmas feeling is long gone. I keep what I think is beautiful.
@ponderable saidThe Episcopal Church of America has a feast day on Jan. 6th, Epiphany, and so that has always been the end of Christmas celebration for me.

In my uncle's house, as I recall, he always said that it was Christmas every day. The spirit is what he meant, although I never got a chance to ask him. The spirit of goodwill towards your fellow man.
Anyone know of an appropriate avatar for representing this spirit? A holy spirit, which is invisible, but one can see the effects it causes.
