Dilema: Tournie game should I claim the win?

He is higher rated and would probably win but the games are evenand in the early stages.

But since he last moved he has moved three evenings on here without moving in our games.

He has put up open invites but has not moved in our games.

Claiming a win is a hollow victory and it will automatically happen in 2 days anyway but then he might move in the intervening time and then the games would drag on.

Normally I don't claim wins, but I find it disrespectful for someone to hangaround in the forums, or play other games when our game just sits there.

I could send a reminder but I'm sure like most people these mails are spam and deleted on impact.

What would you do?

I'd send a reminder first. Then you'll know you've done all you can do to ensure a good game. If he doesn't move within 24 hours, I'd claim the victory. It's perfectly within your rights to claim the win now, and I wouldn't fault you for doing so. On the other hand, you seem to have some reservations about it, so I'd send the reminder first.

Wait to the time runs out...one step at a time my eager beaver

But I think its quite blatant that u want him to see this n so move more often...waiting for people is the nature of the game on RHP...I'm playing one guy who moves evey three days in a totally lost posistion ..it[gid]1379299 [/gid] you just gotta accept it!

I am not a time out claimer myself, only under certain conditions in tournaments. I will not take the win when there is nothing for me left in the tournament, and taking the win influences the results of others too much.

I would wait what the other opponents in the group (if any) do. If they time him out, I will do the same. Otherwise I will just wait. Don't get kicked out of the tournament if your other opponents take the win and you might miss out on some points when he continues the game. If it is a duel, I would probably take one win, and give him chance in the other game to get even, so both might go through the next round.
