Why should they? They have a life of luxury.

They might protest, but they do not riot. If they want to riot they pay their people to do it for them.

The family has a lot of buffas.

People of culture and high education are aware that commercial TV is pure garbage and a vast wasteland...

She's not on TV.

Awards are so 70's. Even then my family only watched the Academy Awards.

I do not follow any awards and turn the station if I see the country music awards.

well, I must be a person of culture because i've never heard of her.

I've often wondered why I'm seen as a snob or a class enemy because I happen to prefer classical music to all other kinds.
It can't be anything to do with the fact that classical music concerts and opera performances are too expensive for ordinary people, because pop concert tickets are even more expensive.

Music taste is personal to the individual, it shouldn't be a class thing.

I understand what you're saying. I love classical music as well.
But, I must admit that my listening to it has become mood-dependent.
Tchaikovsky is always a tonic. But not to the exclusion of the other greats. It just depends.

But as I've grown older I've realized that the brevity of my life demands that I allow for artistic and musical diversity. I guess I fear that I'll regret not having tasted from as many dishes as my scant +/- 90 years has allowed me.

Thus I'm not limiting myself to any particular genre. My mood dictates my taste and if I taste bitterly, I'll not taste again.

Well, that proves the Donald, Mr. reality tv himself, has no culture.

The upper crust levels of people are moving OUT of NYC !! Upper East side, East Midtown, Little Italy will soon be ghettos !! because of "peaceful demonstrators"
