Anyone interested in writing a script for me. Send a pm for a quicker response and details. Or post and I'll check back at least once a day.

Microsoft told me this was a simple code that could be written with visual basics.

I would like to use the function in the VZ Access manager which runs a program after connecting to the internet. I need a script to open a program that will in turn open a short cut on my desktop. As the VZ Access manager cannot open the short cut only programs.

I will add this is not something I am asking to be done for free and will be happy to receive quotes to produce this code.

Have I got this right? You need a 'script' to be run from this VZ Access program (VeriZon?) to open a file on your desktop?

Will a batch file not do?

could you not simply type the program with the .exe extension in notepad and save it as a batch file then amend the code in your program to run the batch file whenever it connects to the internet?

sorry, i dont know anything about VZ but how about this, instead of writing the code, have you tried searching on google for code already written; usually, i have found, 9 times out of 10, whatever you're looking for, there'll be hundreds who have thought of it before and posted it on some website

There may be no actual programming involved.

What shortcut do you want to activate on your desktop? Give me the file name and extension.
This can be put in a batch file, which is a file executable by windows.

Now, this vz program, can you set any program to run from inside it?

Yes the VZ access manager recognizes all current programs on my pc and opens them.

Oknot sure if this is the correct info but here is info from the properies of the short cut.

Fromthe top
Linksys VPN Client

Target
C:\Program Files\Linksys\Linksys VPN Client\VPNClient.exe"

Ask me more as needed.

Yes tried that. I even called Version support.

I found a VB forum and posted this request there also.

I am sure someone will be able to do this.

I am not sure I am following this properly, but, if you are looking for the program VPNClient.exe to open automatically you could drop it into the startup folder and it will run when windows fires up.

Yes I can do that but the software will open incorrectly if it opens prior to the internet connection. Thanks for trying.
