Yeah you got my vote on coldplay over-rated by far.... over played by far...too full of their own self importance..
As for over rated and over played, I have to agree with you. Their first album was pratty good but they don't seemed to have developed any new sounds since then. It is all very samey. Yes i just made that word up.

ok did he not marry a wealthy famous film star raise his profile...give the media ammunition to fire at him because he got stroppy about the paparazzi doing their jobs... think thats very fll of your own self importance .....
have to say that if you dont want the crap that comes along with being famous then be a postman or a milkman.... anyone that wants fame and fortune has to be prepared to have nearly every part of their personal life scruitinised...and put on show for the world to read it..and if you donr agree then dont pandy to the newspapers and media by reading it... its not intrusive its life.... some celebrities manage the personal lives very well without being the focus of media attention...at the drop of a hat..

I also have to disagree. What about people who were born famous? They did not necessarily choose that life.
They are still human beings and do not deserve that scrutiny. No matter what life style they lead.
For the record, I take no interest in reading about people's personal lives whatsoever. It is sad that so many people still want to. Therefore fuelling the media's interest in invading other people's privacy.
I don't know if I'm so much sick of Coldplay as eternally disappointed by them. Almost every song I've heard as a great 'cell' of an idea in there, but they just seem unable to DEVELOP those ideas into a complete song. "Clocks" is the classic example - a handful of very catchy bars, but they don't go anywhere.
The only song of theirs that I know which I really enjoy is "God put a smile on your face", because it manages to find two simple musical ideas that work well together. It's no more 'developed' than their other songs, they just hit on an initial idea that doesn't really need development to work.
