All TheCheat ever wanted was attention. The poor kid. He was a good chess player, a clan member of mine and a kid with a nice heart who just tried too hard on these forums to be "liked". For those who remember him, in the forums he was always trying to emulate those he found to be funny, which should make us all think. Are we being proper role models to the more impressionable youth who read these forums? Are we presenting a respectable image of adulthood and maturity for those who simply don't know better? Or are we influencing these children in a negative way such that they play hoaxes like these as a final attempt to gain some "forum cred"?
I think we should all take some time today to reflect on our past behaviours. Are there times that, in retrospect, you have acted inappropriately and may have negatively influenced someone inadvertantly? Do you feel ashamed?
