Nice. Its abject apathy like you exhibit that really makes you such an inspiration to others. I can't believe that being a total loser is actually a good option for you. You should be smothered with your own slug like belly fat for being such a lazy slacker.

I don't agree with that - I think people convince themselves that their age sets them back - it's all in the mind.
Colleges today are in the business of making you a moron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Professors:_The_101_Most_Dangerous_Academics_in_America). You'd be far better off taking your tuition money and investing in a business or rental properties. Even better, take the money and use it to learn how to do something you are passionate about.
Originally posted by Starrmanyes coco... it pays to keep your options open. starman has very politely given you two others here. some people around here think they everything, but you don't really know do you... one day you could be driving the truck or your boss may give you free sewage to make your gardens the pride of the town.
Coconut, you're no use to the world anyway, I reccommend some non-educational role in life in an attempt to redeem yourself. Maybe working in sewage, or refuse disposal?

Maybe it's different for different people and I'm not saying older people [which includes me] CANNOT study.
Originally posted by flyUnitySorry, yes you are right in that people need to keep their brains active, that's roughly what I meant by saying 'people convince themselves of things', i.e. they get set in their ways and don't bother exercising their minds (I should have been more specific 🙂). I don't think you can press the argument with just one case though - the kid could just simply be a faster learner than you, much as a person of similar age could be. You're right though in that very young kids are indeed quick learners - we learn fastest in our first few years of life, but I don't think that there is a significant difference between the learning capacity of an 'average' 20 year old and an 'average' 40 year old, so long as the 40 year old has an open and active mind, which is the point I was trying to make.

Originally posted by der schwarze Ritterhere is another good option coco... investing money! when i was your age i invested $20 at the tab. i made over $4000 on the two horses i had been given. gave my mother the 4 and made another $4000 with the change over the next two weeks. combined with savings, shares and a little loan i put a deposit on a house which i recently sold for double the price. plenty of other good, honest and sensible options out there for you. you just got to find them!

Most college graduates today leave with $25,000 debt. If you take up with another college grad, then the two of you will be starting out with $50,000 debt. You won't be able to afford to look for the "perfect job" and will have to settle because your loans will start coming due the minute you graduate. Also, you'll have to put off marrying, buying a new car, buying a house, having kids, etc. Even worse, you’ll be starting at the low rung on the ladder because you won’t have any practical experience. You’ll be working at a job you hate, doing things you detest for people you’d like to throttle. Even worse, all the good positions will be occupied by people not too much older than you, so unless they’re hit by a bus, you’ll never get your shot. You’ll toil away forty or so years and then be shown the street with not even so much as a thank you. My advice: skip college and start a business so you can realize your own dreams rather than help someone chucklehead achieve theirs.

It seems even if I go for a year and drop out, it would be a better experience than wondering what would have been if I'd gone...
I have 23 days to decide the rest of my life. I don't want to leave my job, or my free time, or just the comfort of knowing what is coming when I wake up every day. But I also don't want to be left here while everyone else makes new friends and lives new lives.
If you simply must go to college, stay off line and get crackin on the books!
(I'm just looking for an angle that will benifit me mostly)
When you git out of school come an see me, I will give you a shovel and put you in a ditch digging right next to the History major we hired last week. You guys will have much to talk about.
