Hmmm, interesting....

Why is it that most Englishmen will be happy to wish Scotland, Wales & N Ireland the best of luck (unless they're actually competing against England of course), while you lot (esp. Welsh and Scottish) will often support the team that's playing against England????

Well, I'm not an expert on British history, but I'd hazard a guess that it has something to do with the all the conquering and dispossessing and whatnot that went on in those parts over the past millenium or so.

nice to know we are re-writing history varg! the scottish king was in fact invited by englands parliament to take the throne cos elizabeth the first (of england) bore no children.

the reason scotland doesnae support you lot are to varied to discuss but we'll start with 300 years of colonail rule! for the irish read 700 years!
