you will be aware that the forces of doom and darkness scraped a one nil win over paraguay. the media have went into overdrive with boasts that they are now going to the semi finals.
in parallel whilst the thugs have been rampaging the streets, the german law enforcement agencies have arrested 200 of them - the english media describe these incidents as minor skirmishes.

As a Scotsman, can I add fuel to the flames and say how much I HATE the extreme anti-English racism that I find here. Much of it is in good humour, but not always. There is a genuine underlying hatred there and it's about time we put that to rest.
I have to admit that I was the same myself a number of years ago but I've managed to get over it all, please can my fellow countrypeople do the same. What's the problem?
i don't mind england, and i hope that they do well. i just don't want to be hearing about their victory for the next 40 year.
i'm not supporting england at the moment, but that's not because i don't like the English but meerly because i prefer supporting the underdog. i've had plenty of practice at this supporting Scotland. i shall probably support them in the group stages. not sure what i'll do if they get in the final though...

You are right about hearing about it forever. I believe that the English Media have to take a lot of the blame. If we didn't keep on hearing about '66, Rooney's foot and Crouch's crap dancing then many more Scots would be receptive towards the English football team. I also believe that Motty is the chief culprit in this respect.
