due to a mix-up i've got a couple of days to order a DVD from a web site, and the only film i'm currently wanting, grosse pointe blank, they don't have. so does anyone have any ideas of another comedy film i can get? my comedy collection includes marx brothers films, some like it hot, the incedibles, fight club (it's hilarious in parts!) etc...

so, any idea's would be appreciated people!

It's not a comedy really, but you sound like you'd enjoy "American History X"

The big Lebowski (funniest film ever made)
The Blues brothers
My best friend's wedding (sappy...but sarcastic)
Monty Python's: The life of Brian (obviously)
Dr. Strangelove (strangely topical...still)
Kelly's heroes
Ed Wood
Dogma

Ghostbusters. Can't go wrong with that one.
The Princess Bride is pretty funny, and it has Andre the giant.
As for old stuff, check out Arsenic and Old Lace.

I never said it wasn't good, but that thing is about as close to comedy as Motley Crue is to being music.

I recommend Dr.Strangelove. If you like old comedies like Some Like It Hot and older comedies like those from the Marx brothers, then that's a perfect meeting of the two I think. That or maybe some more Monroe comedies.

Wouldn't you rather he enjoyed a nice night of laughs with The Silence of The Lambs?

I'm a big Robin Williams fan so if you ask me (which you did) I'd recommend Patch Adams. That movie changed my life!!

The funniest film I've seen lately: Haxan, or Witchcraft Through the Ages--1922 B&W Danish film combining fiction & documentary (Oliver Stone, sort of)...looks at the parallel phenomena of witchcraft (with an emphasis on witchhunting & burning) and hysteria...English version has a supremely droll narrative courtesy of Burroughs with an expressively cacophonic jazz soundtrack. It's hilarious...

Another funny film: The Wicker Man...Classic 1970s horror, had me laughing all the way until the painful ending.

Team America. Just be sure to only watch the first half, and leave it at that. I even learnt a few tricks during the love scene.
