For a two day outage----it's roughly 12 or 13 cents.
Times that by all the subscribers---hmmm it's only like 16,000 thousand dollars.
Not much at all.
The emotional distress is something that you just can't put a price tag on.

Firstly, let me apologise again for the recent outage. I can surely say that if there was an easy way for us to compensate for the two days outage we certainly would - perhaps we will still find a way to do it.
The outage allowed us to make a major server upgrade which should have significantly increased the performance of the site already. We still have another server to bring online (there should be no need for further downtime for this one, however).
The reason for the downtime was purely to improve the quality of the service and we certainly hope we don't have to take such drastic measures again.
Thanks again for your patience. If you've already noticed a speed increase - well, hopefully within a few days you'll notice an even bigger increase when we bring the next server online.

Yeah, I enjoy it immensely. It has become part of my daily routine.
Can I do what they do?
No. If I could, I wouldn't be paying them...I would be creating my own site.
And then I would encounter some server issues and some jackass like myself
would be complaining about how he missed out on those two days.

The point is that I'm finally getting serious about chess.
I'm currently reading 'My System' and I've also purchased
'The Worlds Greatest Chess Games'
In my mind, if I read and memorize those books
it will make me an elite chess player.
