-A co-worker, upon hearing I was quitting my job
This one really stuck with me. The truth was that it was a crappy job and thus lots of us had a bad attitude at work, including me. It showed me that people can still appreciate you, despite an environment that often leads to mutual hostility. I admire her honesty i ...[text shortened]... ng both my good and bad qualities. Give me that over a phony, exaggerated compliment any day.
P.s what does TMI mean, or do I not want to know?
Yesterday a co-worker told me, "I totally get how you think. I respect it and I think the same exact way." It would have done quite well as a compliment, if it weren't for the fact that he's quitting and everyone hates him and gossips about him behind his back.
Still, I'll take what I can get. Slim pickin's these days.

Thumbs Down, if you think about them, are a form of left handed compliment... in the sense that at least somebbody isn't ignoring you.
