Suppose you have a new-ish laptop with Vista, and it's driving you nuts that you have tons of RAM but it's all being sucked down by this program you hate. Now, suppose you also happen to have a bootable XP disk that'll erase everything and start over with XP (due to an unpleasant foray into the world of Linux) (that you hope you can find). Would you decide to adjust to Vista and upgrade your memory, or would you trash the whole thing and write over it with the XP? Would doing the latter actually do any sort of damage? I hate wading through molasses every time I try to do anything! I'm used to just zipping right along!

OTOH, as I just found out, I have more RAM in my laptop than XP will support. That sucks, too.
Assuming you don't have more than 4 gigs RAM -If you have you can just remove some anyway. 2 gig is plenty.
