@wolfgang59 saidThey have come a long way in Hockey as well!!!
I truly thought it was England's time.
😢
Great to see women's soccer becoming more high profile.
Certainly happy for my girls to play soccer rather than rugby!
I didn't think they would beat England.

@patzering saidThey do and are improving but not good enough for the elite group yet.
How unfortunate.
Does Canada have a team?
They had what they considered their best team there this year.
I wasn't expecting them to do as well as they did actually.

@executioner-brand saidNot sure why men would make more money either but let me take a shot.
I know if men in the U.S.A were to win a world championship they'd get a lot more money but I'm not quit sure why? Hmmm.
Could it be higher attendance, higher ticket prices, and much more TV revenue due to a much bigger viewing audience?
just guessing, executioner!?

@very-rusty saidSo most of what you posted is not true.
The defending champions are the United States, who won the 2015 championship after winning both the 2007 and 2011 editions. The U.S. team did not participate in the World Cup until 2007 and have won every tournament since. Prior to U.S. participation, Japan won the 1999 and 2003 championships.

USA won the first ever Tournament 1991 (as opposed to first participation in 2007)
They particpated and won 3rd place 1995. 8as opposed to your Claim they didn't participate until 2007)
They won again 1999 (as opposed to your assertaion that Japan won that one)
They won 3rd place in 2003 when Germany won the Tournament (as opposed to your assetration that Japan won and the USA didn't participate)
They won third place in 2007, Germany won the title (as opposed top your Claim that USA won and your Claim that never lost since then)
Japan won 2011 against the USA (as opposed to your Claim that the USA won that year and that they never lost after taking part first in 2007).
They won both in 2015 and 2019 so at least two of your Claims have been correct (the one of which I posted the post before and one which was probably all over the press)
@ponderable saidIs the world cup not held every 4 years? the finished first place in 2007, 2011, 2015, & 2019 they won them all. The other ones I didn't even mention as they didn't place first. I may have missed 1991 will have to look further into that to see if you correct or not. ( I am talking about 1rst place finishes not placing 3rd or any other position.
