I started wearing glasses at age 8. I was very nearsighted, 20/200. By 18 I was 20/400. My eyes stayed about there for 50 years, now with cataracts I'm bad off. Insurance doesn't pay much toward it, high copay and deductible etc. And the Center that does it locally wants all the money up front.

My granddaughter is almost 8. She's needing bifocals.
