cultural appropriation

General

if cultural appropriation is not appropriate then why
are non-europeans allowed to wear suits, ties, white shirts and dress shoes.

bit of hypocrisy here i say

@mister-moggy

Some things have been re-invented many times. Trousers were worn in Persia 2,000 years ago, for example.

@wolfgang59

levis were invented by a men named straus and levi who took sail cloth from the old ships and made pants in the 1870's they put rivets on them to make them stronger.

Well,, ok, ok, but gay men wear silky pantaloons 🙂

Both the words denim and jeans, and also the fabric itself, are of French origin. Blue jeans weren't invented by Levi and Strauss, they just bought the guy (Davis) who already had, and acquired his patent.

Cultural appropriation is inevitable.

Resistance is futile.

Pantaloons!
Funny to say...
Pantaloons!
LoL say it...pan...ta...loons!

Not talking about who invented "Levis".

Denim is from France.
Originally serge de Nîmes.

The etymology for "jeans" is thought to be from Genoa which
also produced a similar cloth called bleu de Genes.

The word "jeans" was in use a hundred years before Levi Strauss.

Yes; but so were sarongs. And yet it's evil for me to wear one, but not evil for an Indonesian to wear trowse.

Whoever says that is a fool.
