in the UK there are only 300 rough collies ( per official registration ).

a long way down from the heyday of queen Victoria's time when they were at they first became popular.

just a note. the lassie collie is historically one-quarter borzoi. the breed
of rough Scottish collie dogs were bred to a borzoi, hence the long nose of the breed.

I met Lassie... Ainbusk Singers
- about a four year old lonely, unhappy girl and her encounter with Lassie.

I had a lurcher that came from a Borzoi & Saluki cross Beautifull to look at but as thick as Mince.

I've noticed dog owners are now prefer smaller dog breeds. Corgi's, French Bulldogs, and others that take up less space. These are a bit cheaper to feed and care for.

I didn't know they were getting more rare.

Sad decline from their heyday.

Frenchies are quite the clowns when they're puppies.

I had a corgi mix, he was an escape artist. A woman two streets over knew his name.
