during life we all go through loss from time to time, but here in NZ we hold onto the fact that you should just be big enough to handle it. this is why we have the biggest suicide rate per population in the world among young people.
nothing wrong with getting a few anti-depressants if your going through some rough times. sometimes it takes a brave person to admit you are weak and need some help. 🙂.
There IS something wrong, though, with the notion that a drug is the best way to deal with a problem. If depression is being caused by an actual situation, rather than an internal chemical inbalance, then the situation needs to be addressed as well.
There's an ad on Australian TV that really irritates me. It's for a vitamin supplement. Basically, the ad says "Not getting enough nutrients from your diet? Take Centrum!"
My response to that is: "Not getting enough nutrients from your diet? CHANGE YOUR DIET!"
