It astounded me to be honest. All the way through i was convinced it was a setup and that it was a forgone conclusion that he would manage it (since it was a fake anyway)... then he didn't! 😲

If it was fake then you would not expect him to deliberately lose. It goes against the whole (perceived) idea of faking it in the first place.

But if it was not fake then he came extremely close to doing something which all common sense says cannot be done.

I like Derren and the way he has of playing with the mind of the observer. This is just another one of his mind games. I reckon it was a fake, which deliberately failed in order to make it look even more convincing (in a strange round about sort of way).

He's far too much of an entertainer to have it end that abruptly. Usually he goes into depth about what went wrong and the psychology of it all. I'd put money on it being a stunt where it was faked and he was in a mock casino in the other van.
