one of my other genetic engineering projects aims to produce tiny watermelons the size of peanuts. you'd buy a packet of them and munch them on a hot summer day - the rinds will be as thin as grape skins, so you wouldn't have to cut them up or anything. and the pips would be like the ones in kiwi fruit - not a problem. and there will be seedless varieties as well. i mean, what's one of the problems with watermelons as they are today? they're so bloody huge! and all that rind is wasted...
