Disconnected from the world

General

I have listened to much, much less news than I usually do over the last 72 hours, for one reason or another. Consequently, I have felt disconnected and far less able to influence world events than usual. Does anyone else get this way sometimes?

I'm worried that, if I don't track all the Trump-related news every day, doggedly and in detail, he might get voted back into office in 2024.

I hear one of my cousins ~ whom I haven't seen 30 years ~ and his wife ~ whom I have never met ~ are thinking of getting divorced. I'm think of picking up the phone and talking some sense into them.

I've written to Rishi. I've told him to call it in March '24. I haven't written to Keir yet to ask him what he thinks.

There was a power cut lasting an hour this morning. If the electricity company had asked me if it was acceptable beforehand, I'd have said no. So it's no surprise that they didn't ask me.

Keir Dullea, because he too was “a space cadet”?

In case you missed it, Mao’s dead.
