The other day, here in Canada statistics were released showing that a "staggering" number of railway engineers admitted to falling asleep "at the wheel". Unbeknownst to me, they are basically on call 24/7 and have no set schedule as far as shifts are concerned. Some admit to working for 24hrs solid. The railroad companies had...wait for it..."no comment at this time".
