can a person be born lucky? or is any good fortune that come anyones way worked for?
Originally posted by Nordlysits funny you mention that, i came off a mountain bike in peru and ended up spending a night in hospital with damaged diaphram (sp?) (i couldn't breath)...among other cuts and bruises. i wasn't wearing a helmet and even though i couldn't do a lot for about a month after...including laughing or coughing...i considered myself pretty lucky, i've seen people come off bikes before the way i did and do some serious damage.

Getting a 5-9 job which supports 3 kids and a wife is pretty lucky.
Originally posted by trev33I think you've got a bit of a contradiction here. Luck implies chance or randomness. To say that one is 'born' lucky would imply that there's something deterministic to it. So, I would say no, I don't believe we're born lucky or unlucky. We all recieve varying amounts of good and bad fortune through our lives, but I think it's down to chance.
