I have lots of complaints, but they pale to the wonderful.

Nature is wonderful. Don't worry about losing or winning.

I think we all have days and moments when life is good, then other days it's your turn for the proverbial bucket of s--t; such is the human condition, and it's taking it all in ones' stride that's the secret. Then again if we manage to ignore the bad things then we run the risk of ignoring the good things, too, and life can reach a point of neutrality, which is kind of boring, really. From a personal perspective, I have an underlying sense that my life is far better than I realize most of the time, but that's about as far as I've got with it...And as for winning and losing, I try to do the former but don't lose any sleep over the latter; we have to play with the assumption that we ain't going to win all the time. That would get boring, too.

The older I get the more I realise how lucky I am and
that each day is good ... even though the aches and pains pile up!

What is winning? I think if life were a chess game, there would be no such thing as checkmate. Pieces are shuffled around the board until the game is lost on time.

So it's all about how you shuffle them, and whether you enjoy the shuffling thereof. And in the end of course we shuffle off this mortal coil, as Mr Shakespeare would have it.

"The fruit of life is not happiness, but experience." Schopenhauer

If you should happen to find joy in life, consider it the 13th donut in a baker's dozen: nice to have, but you have no entitlement to it.

PS: I have known joy.

Maiden Gertrude,

How do you know it beats the alternative? We may be better off and know it yet! 😉

Enjoy life? We have to, don't we? It would be such a waste not to.

There will be many other nights like this,
And I'll be standing here with someone new.
There will be other songs to sing, another fall, another spring,
But there will never be another you.

A beautiful way of saying it.
