No that’s the thing they have not used the company logo, o company colours just written the company name. They have not put my name anywhere. That’s what would make me think it’s a different company with the same name. But it is my address for sure and my telephone number so it is my company. The yellow pages have not put any logo or advertisement of their own on their which i also find weird. I think i will have to phone them to see what has happened.

That's quite strange.

The only possible reason I can think of someone to do that is so they can use it to make advertising revenue from the web traffic that visits the site.

Have you got any registered copyrights or trademarks for your company - ie: names, logos, etc... If so you can threaten the site owner with legal action if they don't remove you ...[text shortened]... rol of the site.

Can you post a link to the site here? I'd like to see what they've done.
the only other possible reason is that he actually created the site himself and is using this as a very questionable way to advertise his company.

maybe the yellow pages is doing this:

1) as a free service alongside yellow pages advertising you may or may not have ordered (newspapers may do this also),

2) in order to get you to cough up dough to transfer the site's name to yourself (if it is or isn't the YP).

look for WHOIS/IPWHOIS Lookup partway down this page:

The colour theme to the website is all wrong but apart from that its very good. It has my corre ...[text shortened]... ber so I know for sure it’s my company. How is this possible? Can I edit this website in anyway?
How did you find this out? If you have never contemplated this before, it is unlikely you would be searching online for you small company.
