it seems that everyone here is addicted to RHP, i know i am. but why is it? i visit other websites all the time and have fun on them but i never get addicted to them like i am to RHP?
i reckon that Russ used subliminal messaging to draw us into paying money every year. how? i don't know, maybe certain words or letters are drawn to our attention without us noticing, or maybe in the small gaps between screens there are signs saying " you will re-subscribe" or "you like chess....yes you love chess".
what do you think?

It is true that there is an addictive quality to this site, akin to gambling.
There comes a time when losing is sweeter than winning, it creates pain and the need to try and regain self esteem. The need move regularly becomes all consuming. It's not the quality of chess that matters its more the quantity.
How many hours have you wasted when you should doing be something useful or social?
How many times have you quite irrationally been late for an important appointment because you have 37 games waiting and you thought you could move in all of them all in the 20 minutes before the appointment starts?
You know you are hooked when towards the end of of romantic weekend with your partner, you start to fidget as you realise you will be timed out by internet geek you have never met and suddenly you lust after rhp whilst your partner tries to seduce you.
Please release me!

Underhandedly
Bombard you with
Subliminal messages encouraging you to reach for you
Credit card, purchase a subscription for
Red Hot Pawn, and
In a few days you
Begin to wonder what on
Earth compelled you to do that?
No,
Outrageous,
Who do you think I am?
😉
