Ontario (Canada) today has instituted a new law prohibiting the use of hand held devices while driving. They have been advertising this fact for a number of months now but have decided that should you be caught using said devices they'll give you a warning but only until February 2010. Barrie , Ontario (A city north of Toronto) is the only place that has said that they'll not give warnings but tickets as of today. What a novel idea since the provincial government has said that this is the new law. "Ain't" government wise?

I saw this one lady "driving" her car, she was putting on makeup, and talking on her cell. She was all over the road. If I was a cop, I'd have shot her, then made up a story.

There are soooo many stories about what some people do while "driving". Guys (women too) drinking coffee with one hand, shaving with the other and driving with their knees in rush hour traffic.

They have laws like this in the UK, but every day I see people driving while using their phones. People think they can still do it and not get caught, and it appears they are right!

The police have more important things to do than chase people with mobile phones, unfortunately. Maybe car maunfacturers should start installing some kind of shield in the fabric of cars, that blocks phone signals. This would be a really long term solution though, and it wouldn't stop people from shaving at the wheel. Meh.

Dose it anoy you? It anoys me! It's so dangerous. One neighbour was turning the corner into our street when I was out on my bike yesterday, he was on the phone and swerved into the middle a little. He has children and he knows the kids all play in the street.

Better to stay safe. I ignore calls when I am driving. Call backs happen when I get to my destination.

I do find it annoying when I can see it's affecting their ability to fully control the vehicle. The worst one I saw was on a hot day and the young guy driving the car was on the phone and taking off his T-shirt whilst trying to overtake me. 😲

Ouch! When I was a youngster I fell, while playing hockey, on the back of an opponents skate blade and it went into my "exhaust". Now the blade was somewhat narrow unlike a banana.
