I knew duct tape was a wonderful thing before today, I have watched MacGyver and Red Green but until today.....I did not understand.
We havw a kajillion duct tape rolls hanging about that perhaps they could make an fun little craft project........so in my innocence googled duct tape.....
OMG----there were wallets and purses, uniforms, tuxedos and prom dresses and a guy taped to the wall! jewelry, hats, duct tape webcam!?! ropes and sculptures, philosophical musings and two guys know as the duct tape guys. I could not help myself as page after page of duct tape lore and legend was displayed, there was even a duct tape wrapping and well.....*blush* a not pg 13 site although the corset was cute....I didn't see a chess set.....hhhmmmm.....
Then I began to wonder....what do you do with duct tape?
I taped my exes dog to her wall once..lmao
we wrote "pop" in big letters one time all over my friends house, celings, walls,, and went to him at school and told him we just got done putting poop all over his house.. it took hours.lmao... he laughed his ass off.. his parents wer not pleased...
oh.. i had a car once we called "the dict tape-mobile".. afew parts wer held on with it.. hmm.. oh.. i dont think theyd let me post that here.. but .. yeah... tape hurts.. lmao@me..
you right.. where would we be without duct tape, super glue, caulk, and bondo... i think you could make a house outa those things and it would last for eternity..lol
I used to race motorcycles cross country with some friends. One of my buddies was a top Expert in the class and we ran the 400 mile Jack Pine together. About one hundred miles out he crashed big time, hitting a boulder and cracking his crankcase. Well, he pulled the duct tape out and wrapped it around the leaking crankcase and we both went on to finished the race!
The duct tape worked so well he ran two more enduros with it before getting a new crankcase. π True story!
My hunting day pack has to have everything to survive for 2 days (I hunt in the Colorado rockies), for just about any condition you can imagine . Duct tape has always been in it . But an EMT blew me away when he told me his secret for an emergency pressure bandage which also double for lots of other things - That's right ; duct tape and a roll of toilet paper .
I want to know if anyone has ever used duct tape for what it was origionally designed for (taping heating ducts to seal them ) ? I've used it for everything else but that .
Originally posted by Moldy CrowThey actually have a foil tape that works better for that application, but I have seen it used for taping ducts, although I wouldn't recommend it.

My friend swears by it. He evn takes on holidays with him. A couple of years ago he took a roll to Turkey and i just laughed, until he fixed my flip flops with it. Then there was this dripping tap in our hotel room so he cut off a length and stuck it to the nozzle so the leak just silently ran into the sink witjout a single drip drop drip drop. Good stuff.

Back when I was dancing, we used duck tape to help us make patterns for belly dancing bras and belts. If you wrap the tape over yourself while wearing a t-shirt, you can then mark where you want the seams and darts to go then cut along the seam lines to create a pattern that fits perfectly.....
