Mine was buying shares of JRCC (James River Coal Company) at $3.96 and selling it for under $7.00. It is currently at $58+ a share.

Don't feel too bad. Deciding when to sell ain't easy.

I'm just looking at a profile of JRCC. Negative earnings? Is that some kind of turnaround play?

I don't know. All I know was if I would have kept it, it would have paid for my wedding and more.

My dumbest financial move was getting married.

LOL, I'm going to do that soon. Oh course, she wouldn't have gotten anything since we aren't married yet. 😞

It looks like it lost about $4 per share last year, estimates are for it to earn about $4 per share next year. Looks like it's more of a bet on coal prices next year. That could be dicey - if coal prices weaken from expectations, JRCC could tumble from where it is now.

I also noticed that all of the insider transactions are sales - no insider buying. From just skimming the data, it looks pretty pricey right now - not much value in it. Yeah, you missed a lot of the run, but at least you made money on it. You could have done worse.
