This is for you guy's who really want to study the Bible when they study the Bible.

e-Sword is a free and powerful Bible study package. It has many bibles. It even has the English Standard Version, a recent translation that has been approved by many reformed leaders. Also, many great commentaries, dictionaries, and even maps.
I've been using it for the last few weeks and it's the best free Bible study program available IMHO.
There's another freeware Bible study program I can also recommend - The Sword Project.

This has even more bibles, commentaries, lexicons, etc. The interesting part about the Sword Project is it is open source. That may be why they can not get any recent translations. While they could set them so that you'd pay a fee to unlock (for instance) the New International Version, the 'open source' code may make it easier for someone to hack the locks.
But either way, the e-Sword or Sword Project, both are free and have an amazing amount of free texts, all hyperlinked together.

(BTW. I order another 'free bible program' from another source that supposedly comes with QuickVerse and tons of bible related materials - for the cost of shipping ~$8. I'll let you know how it is and add it to the list of recommended bible study programs.)
