In any case, would it not make for a better competition next year if the English were still in the World Cup? I mean, it would be a boring summer next year for your country's football fans without a team to (despite it being a sad national trait) fanatically hate.
in terms of your other point i have never met an irishman who supports england in the world cup either, but yes if they do qualify it does mean we scots get to express our solidarity with at least three other countries!
