Maybe the Earth started rotating on its own axis slightly faster every time an English player had a shot.

Naturally we will get the 'we woz robbed' as well as that is a standard issue.

There are only two teams left in the competition that haven't won before: Portugal and Ukraine.
Can't see Ukraine making it, so for some variety Portugal should win.
Brazil, Germany, Italy, France, Argentina have all won it more than once.

I wouldn't mind that, it would be an easy win for England. No way Ukraine gets lucky against Italy like they did in the last game, this game will not go 0-0 and I don't see Ukraine scoring against them either. Also if by some prayer it goes like 1-1 through overtime and comes down to shootout, Italy will not be dumb enough to kick all their penalty kicks pretty much straight down the middle. How do you kick penalty shot of the top of the bar??? Wow was Ukraine lucky.

We can even borrow some of the excuses Italy used when they were booted of the last World Cup by Korea or their dismal flop in the Group Stage of EURO 2004.
