Some actually play better. I know a guy went to a tournament drank the whole weekend and won first place. After that drinking wasn't allowed....LOL...made the ones who were sober look bad I think was the real reason.

You can't claim that that guy played better when drunk, he just played better drunk than the other contestants sober...maybe he would have been a GrandMaster could he have held back on the drinking

The guy I was talking about did quit drinking and plays at expert level always around the 2000 mark or higher sometimes drops down into the high 1900's. There was one guy he met that day had a 2200 rating at that time, who he beat drunk.
