Oh no, damn it, yet another stupid movie about
a bunch of idiots who willingly go do something stupid,
then survive, and now we're all expected to marvel at
their heroism?
I am sick and tired of that idiocy. Movies about heroism and the triumph of the human spirit based on true
stories where the protagonists put themselves into
dangerous situations not only deserved to be mocked but
the people who get emotional watching them deserved to
have their nails removed with pliers.
Hey, idiot, you got yourself into a risky situation by your own
will, don't expect me to pat you on the back. Expect me to
consider you a jerk and a lucky idiot.
If you put your money or get all teary eyed at such sad
spectacle, do me a favor and kill yourself. You are as stupid
as the people in the stories.

Shackleton was a great hero who wanted to push the boundaries of human knowledge and achievement. If it weren't for people like him, willing to risk their lives, to further man's knowledge, we' still be eating berries and hunting rabbits.
Shackleton can't compare to a bunch of middle aged suburban
white dudes paying for a thrill (which thousands have done before)
and then getting bit back by their idiocy.

Yes, and if Everest had been about Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay it would've been a worthwhile film. Now, it's about a bunch of preppy tourists not getting enough of a come-uppance.
