That's EQ2. EQ is an old product and they're probably trying to get private individuals to take up the costs of their servers now that the game is outdated.

Edit: What exactly were you offered? Who offered it to you? There was never any mention made to me of any private servers.

I don't think they had any special servers at that time and definitely no private servers like talked about above (not that I know of anyways).
