Michael just won a rather interesting Melbourne race. Interesting, not in the fact that Ferrari was dominate (God, what a lap record !!! 😲) ), interesting in the other teams and where they are at in their development.

Construstors Prediction

1. Ferrari

2. Williams

3. Renault

4. McLaren

5. Jaguar (Due to the brilliance of Webber )

6. BAR

7. Forget the rest 🙂

Yawn! To make it more interesting how about all the drivers throwing their car keys into the middle and then picking one out so that they end up driving someone else's car - sort of like the F1 equivalent of wife swapping.

like it or not folks, Schumacher is a God when it comes to racing. You can't compare that man to anyone before him... By the time he'll leave the circus, he will hold literally every record that is possible to hold in this sport ... I would even go so far that to say that even if you put him in a Minardi, he would manage and come back as a World-Champion ...

what about senna? if he hadn;t been cut short, who knows.........and Hakkinen at his prime? and remember damon hill in his arrows? comming 2nd, and leading for most of the race?...he's amazing, yes, and consistent. it's the consistency that gets him his name, methinks...

Sarcasm about Webber? Given that he didn't finish the race.
The other teams looked very poor, Ferrari were in a class of their own. In fact, after a while I ignored them and regarded Alonso as leader.
The Bridgestone tyres also seemed dominant.
Shame about Raikkonen, my tip for the season.

Senna (RIP) was a true champion, I do agree on that one...

Hakkinen, damon hill ?? I don't think they are in the same league as even Senna, leave alone Schumacher ... one has to consider that when Schmumacher changed from Benetton to Ferrari, he left the best team in the world at that time for a prestigious but crap team. It was only his capabilities to eventually make Ferrari World-champion ... (and himself of course)

No sacasm about Webber. He is a great driver in a shit car. If Jaguar can give him a reliable car he could easily score points in every race.

Apologies, I read your post as 'Constructor Positions' rather than 'Constructors Predictions'.
I agree, Webber is a great driver and shows lots of potential.

To comment on your predictions, I have to sadly agree that McLaren may be beaten by Renault unless their current problems are just caused by lack of testing. Then again, whilst Kimi may pull in the points, I don't think David will be raking them in.
I think Renault may even beat Williams. I think Ralf is failing to shine, and Montoya is highly overated in my opinion. It will be interesting to see him compared to Kimi in equal cars next year.
I'd like Jaguar to do well, but I think BAR might beat them - BAR looked promising this weekend (and they have dumped the lame duck Villeneuve!).
Of course, all of this talk would be academic if Minardi would give ianpickering a drive, then Schumacher's run of success would seriously be threatened.

It is really hard to tell anymore with the way that the machinery dominates so much. I belive even Jackie Stewart who often won races in less then top performing cars could have given Schumacher a run for his money in his time, or even Jim Clark, I believe they woud have pushed the modern cars to their limit, and they were not afraid to try other forms of racing 🙂

yes-i agree that ferrari is built around schumacher, and that he works wonders for a team. but stick him, hill and hakkinen in the same car, and twould be fun to watch...

and remeber that one of the great flaws of the mclaren when hakkinen was driving it was that it pretty much refused to finish races...twas a superbly fast car though!...

So Schumy wins again!
And Button gets a deserved podium.
It was a good race, but Michael wasn't really challenged despite what he said.
Barrichello finishing only 4th highlights the difference in driving ability.
It was a shame for me that Raikkonen blew his engine, but I hope McLaren can get their act together soon, before Ferrari take everything!
