Kindergarten "show and tell" for immature adults; a dating agency; or a serious attempt to turn the world into a global community. Anyone have an opinion?

I like it. I can keep in touch with my friends, plan things with them and know who's showing up and best of all, I've discovered many relatives I didn't know I had. My sister began a facebook account for our family tree and many very precious photos of our ancestors.
Many of my relatives are all the US so I can see them on FB and know what they're up to, what they're thinking, what's new in their lives, babies born, marriages, etc. It's quite nice.
It is what you make of it - like everything. It can be a positive thing. Some of the best humour is on FB.
