Is there a gene that shields you from the harmful effects of smoking? I don't think so.

You may not believe in luck but you are relying on it, or something equivalent, when you
continue to smoke cigarettes and expect to remain healthy. The risks are well known to
medical science, and have been for many years. The evidence that smoking causes
disease and shortens lives is overwhelming.

how do you explain all these little old ladies who have smoked all their lives and are still knocking about smoking 10-20 a day?

My gramma smoked at least 30 a day since she was a teenager and died when we was in her 90s.
