Oh, and reading sjeg claiming that it was only England fans booing Ronaldo in the Portugal game vs. France, as only English fans boo, other Europeans hiss, only to hear Ronaldo being hissed in the game vs. Germany.

Edit: I wouldn't know how to replace pens. I thought the statistic of which team had the most corners at the end of the game should determine who would win, as it would encourage attacking play, but then it would also encourage some negative tactics too not in the spirit of the game.

Maybe they mandate that after regular time, each team has to take a defender off the pitch, but with 3 billion people watching, in a competition held every four years, the winner is decided more or less by lottery? It's awful to watch.

It's not a lottery : there are good penalty kickers and bad penalty kickers.
