Ok I enrolled in a Aviation college, and my college dont offer any scholarships or anything. but I found a Federal aid Website. Does anyone know anything about this? I went to fill it out but it was a huge form, and didnt know if this is what Im looking for. Is it more for poor kids? or can anyone try for it? Also if it is for everyone, what is the chance I would get something from it, and how much? Thx Ben
You need to apply for FAFSA for student loans and yes, you are on the right site. Yes, it's long. You need last year's income tax form. After you apply you will get a response within a day or two letting you know if you qualify and how much $$ you qualify for (I think) Papers will be sent to you to select a lender (bank) . . . it's very thorough and easy.

Im not wanting a loan. I can borrow the money from my family. I just know several of my friends got mostly free college, and it would sure help me out.

FAFSA is a federal loan program. However, you could also qualify for grants--which you don't have to pay back. Grants are based on need. So if you are dependent on your family and they can afford to pay for your education, you wouldn't qualify for a grant. If you are an independent adult and are under a certain income level you could qualify. Applying won't hurt you and you're not obligated to seek a lender. The FAFSA just determines if you have a need and qualify. Does this help?
