@drewnogal saidCaroline Aherne is another comedian I liked. She was in The Fast Show and the Royale Family and other stuff. She was a writer and director too. She succumbed to cancer at a way too early an age.
Forgot about her, yes brilliant.
I am not a big fan of Friends. I'm more into Cheers and Frasier - as well as Seinfeld - a wee bit less so, perhaps - and of course VEEP, in which comedian Julia Louis-Dreyfus was utterly brilliant.
However, despite my misgivings about Friends' twee trappings and tattle, I did think the three female leads were purveyors of brilliant comic timing and deadpan verbal slapstick. Whenever I see it, I enjoy that rather than the storylines.
I should name them: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow.
I might add that Lisa Kudrow is hilarious in a sitcom called The Comeback ~ where she plays a grumpy, narcissistic TV sitcom star fallen on leaner on-screen times ~ which I think is better [albeit less prolific] than Friends.
@fmf saidOh Frasier, I love that and also Lisa Kudrow’s character in Friends. Must look up The Comeback.
