I need to convert an MPEG-4 Audio File (.m4a) file to MP3.

Any ideas?

iTunes would do it for you without the need to use an online converter.

I'm surprised you don't use it already?

Really? I'll have a look. I had one of those pearsontowers.com mixes and I wanted to take it into a music mixer, slice off the last 30 min and meld it with the first 30 min of another I liked. The problem was, one of the mixes (the Steinski one) was the wrong file format for the music mixer.

Anyway, seems to be working now. 😀

iTunes way is simple.. just make sure you have the import setting to import as the file type you want to convert to (mp3)... drag and drop the file you want to convert (m4a) into iTunes, right click on it in the Library and choose "convert selection to file type" (mp3 in this case).

Useful for next time. I've not listened to the Steinski mix yet... have gotten into the one by Dj Soo that begins with Johnny Cash's Boy named Sue.
