I found now ''kazaa'' and such sites where you can download for free some programs due to the file sharing thing.
I want your opinion on:
1)possibility to download a damaged file
2) '' '' '' a file with virus
3)'' '' have troubles about copyrights or such things
If anyone already tried it I would like to hear opinions, because I'm tempted but I fear to get Pc troubles..........

ok,so we have eMule, limewire and soulseek.
Any others? I'm very interested to know the dangers of this procedure......
I use Kazaalite ++ and have downloaded at least a terrabite so far - Not a single virus. The only thing you need to stay clear are software programmes !! As long as you download pictures, music and videos you are ok
The advantage of Kazaalite ++ vs. Kazaa is that Kazaalite ++ has no pop-ups and no ads. I strongly recommend it as it works really nice.
PM me is you need the initial program

Previously, I used KazaaLite but it doesn't use a checksum for the file you are downloading (just filename and file size) so it's possible to get corrupt files.
eMule has a checksum for everyfile so you can guarantee that when you download a file from multiple sources at once, they really are parts of the same file.
As for viruses, run a virus checker and check every file you download before you open it. As always, make sure you update your virus definition file regularly.
For legal implications see this article from the BBC dated today... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3722428.stm

Do you mean that files like Shredder and such😉 are at virus risk?
But be aware downloading copyrighted material is illegal in most countries.
In spite of this I think the only place people have suffered lawsuits is in the US for sharing movies or music.

How about Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com/)? It's a P2P client that supports these networks: Gnutella, Gnutella2, Edonkey 2000 and BitTorrent. Nice, clean, easy to use interface and no ads. I did not experienced a single corrupt file or a virus while using it.
I, like Darius07, have used Kazaa, but like him I encountered similar problems with it.
