All games of chess at RHP are played by official rules. Your opponent may not be moving as quickly as you'd like, but he/she is playing by the official rules. You on the other hand are not! The official rules state that you cannot discuss a game during play!

The rules are there to protect all players at RHP. Your interest in following the rules should be to time him/her out as soon as possible and not to bring your personal problems to the public.

Frustrating? maybe

Unsporstmanlike? maybe

Against the rules? no

Maybe your opponent had to leave the board for a bit, as unlikely as it sounds maybe that did happen.

Whatever the case - if you remain patient your opponent will eventually move, or you will be able to claim the win on time.

Those two things aren't mutually inclusive.

Why does everyone blindly apply the rule of not asking for help on in progress games? Posting an in progress game is totally within the TOS. Even commenting on it yourself is. It's when you solicit help that you've broken the TOS.

That's not correct... the rules clearly state that you can not discuss a game in progress. Are you trying to modify the rules?
