Firefox connection problems

Ever since coming back from my Easter holidays I have had connection problems with Firefox (only for this site). I recently updated to version 1.5.2 and there was also an important Windows Update which happened when I was away.

I can load the site a lot better in IE, and Safari on the Mac, but still have a lot of problems. I am not experiencing problems with any other sites.

Can anyone help me?

Clear cookies and cache files, that might help.

Thanks, but no joy there.

Do you have the same problem with timeforchess.com and chessatwork.com. Are you set to accept cookies from this site?

I actually use timeforchess, but can't log on to the other sites much. I certainly haven't changed my cookie settings, and they worked fine before. I will have a look tomorrow.

Actually, it seems that I just can't access timeforchess.com any more on a PC (but fine on a Mac). This is now a problem for both Firefox and IE. I am really confused!

I meant at all. But for some reason I can now, as explained in the previous post.

At the risk of repeating someone, have you cleared the cache in bot IE and FF?

Well, I hadn't in IE, so I did (and deleted the temp internet files) and now (for the moment at least) I can log on to timeforchess again in Firefox and IE. Surely IE's cache shouldn't (doesn't?) interfere with Firefox?

I was actually in the middle of writing a PM to you when I tried the suggestion above!

Not sure about the spyware possibility - I run almost daily checks with Norton IS2005 (yes, I know!), AdAware and Spybot, and they have all come up clean recently.

I'm intrigued about this mysterious box though!

Oh great. 😠

Now it's only working in IE. Prepare for a PM, Bowmann.

Perhap it is something to do with the cookie stored in the IE cache that enables you to log on. If you then attempt to log on using a different browser then perhaps a conlict occurs. Or maybe I am talking poo. 😛
I had the same problem though after changing from IE to FF and this solved it.
