My computer isn't great but could be changed (and would be worthwhile changing) if I had a good FPS.

Any suggestions, preferably for PC but other ideas welcome. πŸ˜‰

Im still a big fan off, and still play some Team Fortress Classic.
Its a fast First Person Shooter where you can bunny hop and has a pretty big focuss on teamplay (if you play on a higher level).
Its a mod on Half Life (1), just as Counter Strike is (that sucks tho). You would need Steam (free download) and a key for Half Life for it (cant be more then 5 euro these days).

Only sad thing is that not many people play anymoreπŸ™

The best:
Call of Duty 4: for multiplayer
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl: for singleplayer (pm me if you get this, I'll let you know exactly which mods to get to make the game insanely good)

The rest (worth buying)
Half Life 2
Far Cry 2
F.E.A.R.

Don't bother with Crysis, it's all glitz and glamour on a ridiculously bloated engine and has a weak story and poor depth of gameplay.

Don't bother with Far Cry 2, it just isn't worth the hassle for cost or gameplay incentive. Horrible multiplayer, just horrible. Also appalling AI in single player.

Get an xbox and get Halo 3.
Curious though, anyone getting Halo 3: ODST?
And Halo: Reach will hopefully be good too. πŸ˜›
Halo Wars will suck, just like Red alert, just button mashing. 😠

I"m a Halo addict, so I'll definitely be getting ODST and Reach. Halo Wars isn't an FPS, so I'll either skip it or pick it up once it hits the bargain bin.

You have a point there... it's not really a classic is it? I played it through twice. I guess I what really grabbed me was the atmosphere. And I guess it also helps the immersion to play it in 35°C summer heat with no aircon.
