I understand there are a few organisations in this world that believe fishing should be banned. This has become more pressing in the face of recent scientific evidence which suggests fish may indeed feel pain.
Personally I do not fish and never have.
However I have spoken to anglers and my general impression of them is that on the whole the do more good than harm. For instance in the monitoring of water quality etc.
My point though is this; If fishing is eventually banned, how long after this will someone be telling me I can no longer eat meat.. I fear this is the direction we are heading towards?
Originally posted by LazarausI wouldnt worry about it, there are probly some organisation somewhere to ban just about anything, just because fish feel pain doesnt mean we cant fish for them to eat. cows and pig...etc... feel pain but as long as we eat them it shouldnt be a problem. now if your being crule to them its another story.

pain or toxic shock?
the experinebt needs to be redone without the use of chemicals

but really dont they think that killing it would help the fish?! I mean its ineateble after you poison it, so you cant eat it, it just goes to wasteðŸ˜

You just know these kind of people were bullied at school.
Originally posted by nktwildnoooo, they did it because if they can prove that fish feel pain perhaps less people would do it. a few fish injected is nothing compared to the amount that you or any other meat eater would throw out because they're not hungry that dinner time.

Well im an angler, and i have beleive it or not i never knew that fish didnt/did feel pain. i fish becuase i enjoy it and i find it relaxing in this all to hectic world we live in. it gives me a chance to get away from tvs, phones, people and all the noise. there is much controversity about the world of shooting aswell. this is another thing that i partake in. When out shooting it gives the members of the shoot a chance to shoot birds that are all eaten ( so its just like getting meat out of the supermarket) but also we make sure the area that we shoot in is well looked after. this means planting new trees getting rid of the old dead ones and building pens to keep the birds away from predators.
my point is that "sports" such as shooting and fishing are more concerned with conservation than killing
