Okay, now I'm craving some homemade mexican food.
Maybe I'll take your idea and try throwing some in the oven for an enchilada bake.
Tamales. I can get them from the mothers of my students, or random women with carts of them in random parking lots. I keep expecting to see someone open a trench coat and have tamales hanging down on the inside, green corn on one side and carne asada on the other.

Let me tell you young whippersnappers, there was a day when the Farrell's ice cream shop in Scottsdale ("the West's most Western town"--it said so right on the street sign) would literally sound the klaxon if'n ya ordered a meal they called the pig trough.
And if ya was man enough to eat it all, they brung you another for free.

Like in Pinnacle Peak Patio where if you order a steak well done, they serve you an old boot on the plate. My mother in law did that and her expression was priceless when they brought it out! East of Scottsdale about 30 miles I think. They have an outstanding steak and outstanding cinnamon flavored ice cream. Not reeking of cinnamon but just right!
